NDT & Failure Analysis

Most of our clients identify Non Destructive Testing / NDT services with a root cause failure analysis investigation due to an immediate defect impacting the performance of a part or assembly.  

Our advanced (Computed Tomography) CT Scanning services which uses x-ray technology is able to aid manufacturers in providing a quantifiable NDT inspection process for difficult to inspect parts and assemblies.

Our NDT & Failure Analysis Investigation lab produces high quality and accurate 2D / 3D X-Ray datasets of internal part features and material density changes.  Data captured includes porosity, inclusions, and micro geometry variations allowing clients to benefit from our non-biased results. 

MATERIAL ANALYSIS

TYPES 

Assembly Analysis

Viewing internal cross sectional slices for insight, preliminary failure analysis, or a root cause failure investigation.

Porosity Analysis

Color coded voids, inclusions, and micro pores by volumetric size or percentage.  Results can be further refined with Micro CT scanning.

Enhanced Porosity Analysis

Automotive industry specific P201, P202, and P203 reporting.  To classify porosity parameters in slice images, VDG Specification P 201 (VW 50097) as well as BDG Reference Sheet P 202 (VW 50093) is used. These analyses provide a digital, fully non-destructive take on the classic micrograph analysis, which was achieved by sawing open the component.
