Our NDT lab has the greatest diversity of industrial CT systems in North America, including an exclusive high-energy computed tomography system for inspection of larger parts up to 44.5” in diameter by 63” inches in height. We also offer radiographic testing services for high volume part sorting and 3D scanning for external imaging. Detailed Inspection of Rubber Components
We provide detailed internal inspection data for failure analysis, identifying features like wall thickness and defects like voids and shrinkages. We also conduct pre-production and production inspection to validate dimensions for First Article Inspection, perform x-ray lot inspection of quarantined or recalled parts, provide non-contact reverse engineering for difficult applications, and actual/nominal comparisons for checking out of tolerance dimensions.
As all of our inspection processes are non-contact, we are able to accurately inspect parts in their unaltered positions. This provides a significant advantage over contact methods of inspection, which distort the original shape of parts and prove tedious when fixtures are required to hold the net shape of rubber parts during inspection.
Our advanced NDT systems tackle inspection of the wide range of elastomer materials, including natural rubbers, synthetic rubbers like BR and nitrile rubbers, EPDM, FKM, silicone, foam, and other thermoplastic elastomers. Our lab has inspected a variety of rubber parts and components, including:
