Our versatile NDT systems can inspect defense and military products made from a wide range of materials like carbon fiber composites, Kevlar, high and low-density metal castings, and rare earth materials. We can accommodate CT and x-ray testing of parts up to 44.5” in diameter by 63” inches in height, including complex engineered products, munitions, projectiles, turbines, pumps, valves, electric motors, and engine components.
Five Ways to Improve Quality Control within the Defense Industry:
For validating part conformity to original design dimensions, our precise industrial CT systems generate accurate metrology data for ensuring quality during the pre-production stage. We obtain high-density measurement data for validating external and internal part geometries and fit and function of complex assemblies for AS9102 Form 3 reporting requirements for First Article Inspection (FAI)/First Piece Inspection (FPI). For external inspection of parts, we also offer 3D scanning as another option.
To qualify parts and assemblies before they reach their final destination, we provide offline production inspection ideal for high value and/or must run defense and military applications. Industrial CT conducted at specified intervals can identify defects, validate dimensions, and verify new or existing production processes. FAI/FPI with industrial CT is also available during the production stage.
Our industrial x-ray testing services provide a customized and highly repeatable inspection process for part sorting and lot inspection. We take the guesswork out of quarantined or recalled parts, using detailed data to isolate suspect parts while reintroducing good parts back into production. Industrial CT is also available for part sorting of lower volume lots for high value parts.
Industrial computed tomography is the ideal nondestructive tool for conducting failure analysis of complex military components. CT is a non-contact NDT method that preserves original failure conditions and reveals any internal failures without having to destroy the part.
