Inspect and Measure an Internal Void Using 3D X-ray

Inspection of voids and porosity by traditional methods is very time consuming and costly. CT scanning is an ideal alternative for full internal and external metrology of components. Jesse Garant & Associates provides industrial CT scanning services (3D x-ray) using industry leading technology. Using 3D x-ray, the internal features of parts can be seen to locate and examine a void. A measurement of the volume for each void is determined using a defect detection analysis. To determine the porosity applying traditional inspection methods, destructive testing would be necessary. CT scanning uses 3D x-ray (a NDT method) and can detect the locations and sizes of void without damage to the part and without the need to apply any pressures or fixtures.
