CT Scanning Plastics, Brass, and Copper for Internal 3D Inspection

Industrial CT (computed tomography) scanning is a process which interlaces 2D x-ray images to produce a 3D representations of a component for internal and external features.  Since x-rays are used, a delicate and fragile part can be scanned in a free state environment without the need for fixtures; So long as the x-rays can penetrate the material, it can be scanned. Therefore most materials from plastics to materials that are considered refractory such as brass or copper can be scanned and analyzed. Measurements can be assessed on the CT dataset. CT scanning allows you to inspect, and measure internal components of an assembly to check feature, detail or verify the piece geometry and more. This can, for example, help analyse and repair the molds that have been used to create them.
